" My grandmother was Beila (later Neifeld), and her brothers were Laizer (Louis), Mendel (Max), and Nuchum (Norman).
Louis was the first one to immigrate to the US, followed by Max just before WWI.  However, my grandmother married Yonah Neifeld from Proskurov and moved there.  My mother and her family were survivors of the 1919 pogrom that struck Proskurov and Felshtin.
They left Proskurov and were in Kiev for a few years, and then in 1922 they literally escaped (in a hay wagon) the Soviet Union to Lviv, which was in Poland at that time."
