Sub-Carpathia Genealogy®, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of our website, with freely searchable databases of vital and census records of interest pertaining to the villages and towns located in Sub-Carpathia Ukraine today—formerly in the Hungarian megyek (counties) of Bereg, Máramaros, Ugocsa and Ung, and in Czechoslovakia (Podkarpatská Rus')—which are of particular interest to Sub-Carpathia researchers and descendants seeking family members, many of whom perished in the Holocaust.
As you are aware, the Holocaust destroyed Jewish family history for the ages and only survivors were able to recount family histories to their families. Through the efforts of one person, that history in the form of surviving tombstones, vital, census and other records from before the Holocaust is now freely available.A paid team of native Hungarian/Czech language transcribers transcribed the vital, census and other records and the website has as its primary focus:
     -
Searchable databases of vital, census, Holocaust and other records
     -
Community websites and tombstone images from 224 places in present Sub-Carpathia with surviving cemeteries

A list of the vital, census and other records in the databases can be consulted on the website and will be constantly updated. There are also records for a few places in Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Romania.
The website is tablet and smart phone friendly and on the home page of the website, researchers and descendants can subscribe to the mail list for future announcements of updates.
The website address is: https://sub-carpathia-genealogy.org
