Restoration of Krasnostav Jewish cemetery
Krasnostav was a typical Jewish shtetl located in Northwestern part of Ukraine. Jews started to settle over there in 17 century, and by beginning of 20 century Jewish population was about 1,200 people. The share of non-Jewish inhabitants was 45% of total population.
A small group of Tsal Kaplun descendants visited the Krasnostav Jewish Cemetery in May 2015. The place had been forgotten for many many years, and it now looked like a grass field with no burial stones or even a fence. |
