Help to establish a monument to the KaGul Ghetto Victims!

Local Jewish organizations in Moldova and town of Cahul (former Kagul) are working tirelessly to establish a monument in 2017 to the Kagul Ghetto Victims, killed in the Holocaust.
This project is led by Michael Gordin, leader of the Jewish Community of Cahul and director of the Organizations of Prisoners and Victims of the Holocaust of the Republic of Moldova.The Moldovan organization “Hesed Yehuda”, led by Director Alexandr Filipov, is raising $7,000 for the monument.

Cahul was established as a town in 1835, and  the name was given after Russian victory with Turkey in 1770 near river Cahul.
 Cahul had  1300 Jews in 1857, 800 Jews in 1900 from total of 6100,  92 Jewish businesses in 1924, and 803 Jews lived in Cahul in 1930.
